Nothing is compulsory on your holiday but I have planned an exploration day should you wish to join.

On our exploration day, Thursday, we follow our usual routine to an early lunch/brunch at which time I will head off to Almeria town and you are very welcome to join me. In Almeria we can visit Alcazara de Almeria, the largest Andalusian fortress on the Iberian Coast overlooking Almeria medina or meander through the old town to the marina for a smoothie (or stronger) before heading to Travieso for dinner. There is nothing scheduled at the finca after lunch to allow you freedom and time to fully immerse yourself in the local area.

Those who wish for some alone time at any stage in the retreat are very welcome to do so and have the option to explore the local area and cuisine, chill at the finca, visit Almeria town or Nijar village, or take the 2 hour journey to Granada perhaps. Go canyoning with a local guide, Kayak and snorkel in Cabo de Gata, visit the salt flats to see the Flamingos, climb El Fraile for stunning views, or visit Texas Hollywood, the set of many western films. The surrounding area also boasts fantastic rugged secluded sandy beaches and hikes along gentle mountain tracks where whales can sometimes be spotted on the horizon with Morocco shimmering in the distance. Perhaps SUP is too tame and kite surfing appeals, or jet skiing! Whatever takes your fancy, we can provide excellent recommended trips and contacts on request.

Your meals

To embrace a healthy, yogic lifestyle we promote a vegan diet consisting of pure, simple, natural foods which are easily digested and promote health.

Three delicious meals will be provided daily in the light and airy dining room or in the outside eating area under a jasmine covered pergola. All the produce is seasonal, organic and locally sourced, usually from the farm itself (finca means farm). The olive oil on offer is produced from the olive trees on the estate.

Bountiful sunshine produce some of the tastiest sun ripened fruit and vegetables which, when prepared with love, result in mouth watering, nutritious and delicious cuisine.

Coffee, a variety of teas, juices and healthy snacks will be available. Filtered drinking water is always available. Local organic vegan wines are served with dinner, if you would like a glass or two.

You will be asked to inform us of any food allergy or special dietary requirements you may have when booking via our Health and Indemnity form.

What to bring

As you get ready we would like to offer some suggestions about what to bring. The number one suggestion is not to "over pack" because we want you to have as stress-free travel experience as possible. And the other key thing to know is that if you do forget something you will be able to get it in Spain.

  • Clothes that you can stretch and breathe in - but don't over-pack!

  • Jumpers & warmer clothes - bring layers of clothing, as it will get cooler in the evenings and mornings.

  • Prescription and OTC medications.

  • Bathing suit, sunglasses and reef friendly sunscreen.

  • Eco friendly mosquito repellent

  • IPod or Musical instruments

  • Beach clothes, towel & flip flops (or any amphibious shoes) if you plan on visiting the beach

  • Walking shoes

  • A notebook for when you feel inspired

  • A book to nourish your imagination

  • Cash: Get Euros before you leave or plan to get some when you arrive. Make sure you have enough cash for your travels.

  • Alarm clock to get up for your morning yoga practice

  • Plug adapters to charge your electronics.

  • Back up batteries

  • Camera with extra memory cards

  • Emergency phone numbers /contact numbers to report credit cards lost or stolen if needed

  • Your yoga mat (provided, but you can bring one if you want to)

  • Any yoga props you wish to bring though most are provided

We highly recommend that you check an online weather report prior to your journey.

A typical day

  • Starts off with an 8am Manifestation Meditation in the gardens.

  • Fruit snacks and juice.

  • An outdoor energising Vinyasa Flow or Primary Series yoga class on the terrace with dramatic views towards the village of Nijar, the mountains and the distant coast.

  • Breakfast is served, consisting of delicious fruit salads and nuts, muesli, cereals, organic jams and fresh breads, hummus, salads.

  • Once you have filled your tummy, it is free time. There are two beautiful pools at the villa, there are plenty of day trips to take (we can organise a transport service). On Sunday we will use this time for an optional hike to get to know the stunning landscape.

  • Lunch is served at around 1pm.

  • The second yoga session is held in the late afternoon, workshops begin at 4.30pm, classes start at 5.30pm. This session is more introvert and slow in nature, Hatha, Yin or Restorative.

  • To end the perfect day at around 7.30pm, a delicious dinner is served under the stars with the sharing of stories, lots of laughter and a glass of wine if you wish.

  • Guided meditation or Yoga Nidra under the stars or cosily in the villa.

  • Our evenings usually come to a close at 9.30pm. Tucked up with a book or star gazing...sleep follows soon.

You can participate in as many or as few of the activates as you would like. It’s your holiday, we want you to find a pace that is enjoyable for you.
