Across the last weekend of September this year I'll be offering a break from busy daily life. Tucked away in Kent you'll find a gorgeous grade II listed house built in 1623 complete with rose garden and swimming pond just 10 minutes from Tenterden - and it's all ours for the weekend! It's here that you can join me for a weekend retreat (day option available).

This retreat is all about learning and submerging yourself in all things wellness, to have fun, relax and try out some new things whilst surrounded by nature, and hopefully some sun!
The classes are beginner friendly but it does help to have some yoga experience as then you can push yourself a little, join me for one or two of my weekly group classes in and around Etchingham, or book in a private class in the run up to the retreat.
With two experienced, highly qualified yoga and wellbeing teachers at your side this is a fantastic opportunity to delve deep into your practice knowing that you are safe and practicing correctly.

The weekend is packed with wellness opportunities including Vinyasa yoga, Yin yoga, guided meditation, yoga Nidra, sauna sits, cold water dips, breathwork sessions, and delicious nutritious vegetarian food. Everything is optional and there are plenty of reading or contemplation spots or gorgeous walks that you could take alone if a moment of solitude is what you crave.

YOUR MEALS
To embrace a healthy, yogic lifestyle we promote a vegetarian diet consisting of pure, simple, natural foods which are easily digested and promote health.
The retreat's delicious meals will be provided in the light and airy dining room or in the outside eating area, they are created by our wonderful host, Kathyrn.

Coffee, a variety of teas, juices and healthy snacks will be available. Drinking water is always available. Local organic vegan wines are served with dinner, if you would like a glass or two.
THE ITINERARY
On Saturday our day begins at 10:30am, please arrive with plenty of time to get parked and settled.
We'll start with a glass of cucumber water on the lawn, have a little natter and introduce ourselves. On that same lawn (or in the Oast if the weather isn't playing ball) we'll energise and ground ourselves with a 90 minute Hatha and Yin yoga class led by Ebony. The Hatha section of this session will be a foundational slow flow followed by Yin - a slow practice with a focus on grounding and flexibility, leading us up to 12:30pm when Kathryn will serve our delicious lunch.
After lunch Kathryn will lead a mindful discussion walk through the surrounding country fields, giving you some time to let your food digest as well as chat about different mindfulness techniques whilst partaking in one.
You'll join Ebony back on the lawn at 2:15pm for some breath work and guided meditation in preparation for our cold water dip in the swimming pond (it will be cool at this time of year, not cold). Now is the perfect time to enjoy the sauna if it should take your fancy.
By 4pm we'll be ready to set some more intentions over a herbal tea in time to wrap up our lovely day together at 4:30pm.

If you have chosen to spend the weekend at Stede Court then you will meet Ebony in the Oast house at 5:15pm for a yoga Nidra, you will then have some free time until dinner is served at 7pm with some optional delicious wine. Breakfast is served at 7:30am.
On Sunday our day will begin with breakfast at 7:30am. At 10am, for those joining us today please arrive with plenty of time to park and settle, and meet us on the lawn for a glass of cucumber water and a natter. The day will follow the same schedule as Saturday giving you weekenders a chance to settle into the Stede Court wellness routine. The morning class on Sunday will be a Yin and Yang class instead, the Yang section of this session will a dynamic vinyasa flow followed by Yin - a slow practice with a focus on grounding and flexibility.

You can participate in as many or as few of the activities as you would like. It’s your retreat, we want you to find a pace that is enjoyable for you.
YOUR TEACHERS
Hi! My name's Ebony.
I am Yoga Alliance YACEP adult yoga certified in 573 hours, Aerial Yoga London trained Aerial Yoga Teacher, CMA accredited Tree of Life qualified in Children Do Yoga, Sunshine Network Teacher, Thai masseuse trained through Jungle Healing accredited with The International Society of Thai Yoga Massage.
My favourite thing about teaching yoga is seeing someone take their body further than they thought they could. Our minds give up way before our bodies do and I love seeing a yogi realise how much more they are capable of.

I adore teaching retreats, the immersion into a daily practice and testing new limits coupled with being surrounded by like minded souls in a beautiful environment leaves me changed forever so I can only imagine how my yogis feel.

Our lovely host, Kathryn Freeland.
Kathryn has over 20 years’ experience personal training celebrities, royalty & private clients in London parks and homes before moving to Kent 7 years ago, she was one of London’s top personal trainers and ran Absolute Fitness for 15 years with 17 trainers.
She combines many disciplines to give you the very best bespoke session, including Pilates, Yoga, TRX, HIIT, Kettlebells, Running, Boxing, Circuits, Sports Therapy, Meditation & Mindfulness.
Kathryn is also qualified in nutrition and has a 5 star food hygiene rating.

WHAT TO BRING
As you get ready we would like to offer some suggestions about what to bring. The number one suggestion is not to "over pack" because you won't need half as much as you think!

Clothes that you can stretch and breathe in, bring 3 or 4 sets of these in case you get sweaty.

Jumpers & warmer clothes - bring layers of clothing, as it will get cooler in the evenings and mornings. Fluffy socks always encouraged!
